DVD Review - 'The Other Boleyn Girl'

Throughout my time at primary school I felt that all we learnt about was the monarchy and how it has shaped England today particularly through the powerful figure that is King Henry the VIII.

First released in 2008 this passionate tale of the harsh truths which come with Henry the VIII's desperate struggle for love and a woman to bare his only son this film sparks a realistic approach on the Tudor time Period.

The television director Justin Chadwick approaches his first feature film well and the chemistry between the actors and the standard of writing within the script makes for a decent attempt at a hard subject matter in such a film.

This film features great actors such as Natalie Portman, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch and Kristen Scott Thomas. With such great actors a great script accompanies them making it a truly powerful piece of film the English Accents are at times tested by those who are American however this should not get in the way of quite frankly brilliance of film.

This film is and should stay one of the greatest romance films in history, with its power of seduction, betrayal and love this is a film which everyone should own or at least watch.
